A message from the campus:

Most MCG programs begin only one term each year.  The application fee is nonrefundable, so before you click the "Submit" button, please review the chart below to make sure you've applied for the correct term, by the appropriate deadline, for your desired program.

Please note that MCG does not offer freshman or sophomore courses.  Lower-division prerequisite courses must be completed at another institution prior to MCG enrollment.

General Information

  1. Use this online application to apply for all undergraduate degree programs. Complete all parts that pertain to you.

  2. The $30 application fee must be paid online with an e-check or credit/debit card. This fee is nonrefundable. Once payment is authorized, your application is on its way to the Medical College of Georgia, and you can no longer make changes to it.

  3. In addition to your complete application and $30 application fee, the following must also be submitted by the deadline before your application will be considered:

    • An official transcript from each college and university attended (must be mailed to MCG directly from the institution). These transcripts must reflect that you have completed or plan to complete the core curriculum of the University System of Georgia prior to your MCG enrollment. The Medical College of Georgia does not offer freshman or sophomore courses. (Download transcript form)

    • Two references (must be submitted on the Medical College of Georgia's Admissions Reference Form)

    • Applicants whose first language is not English must submit official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores. Minimum scores of 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based), or 79 (Internet-based) are required for admissions consideration, but do not ensure acceptance.     School of Allied Health Sciences only:

    • Current CPR and first aid certification is required (except for Health Information Administration) prior to enrollment for accepted applicants.

    • Satisfaction of legislative requirements on the history and constitutions of the United States and Georgia is required prior to enrollment.

    • Students transferring from another University System of Georgia institution are expected to pass the Regents Exam prior to enrollment.

    • Computer literacy is expected of all applicants.

    School of Nursing only:

    • SAT or ACT scores are required. A minimum of 450 on the SAT Critical Reading section or 18 on the ACT English section is required for admissions consideration. The Medical College of Georgia institution code is 5406 for SAT scores, or 0836 for ACT scores.

    • Current CPR certification and satisfaction of legislative requirements on the history and constitutions of the United States and Georgia is required prior to enrollment.

    • Students transferring from another University System of Georgia institution are expected to pass the Regents Exam prior to enrollment.

    All international applicants must also submit the following:

    • TOEFL scores, if your first language is not English. A minimum score of 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based), or 79 (Internet-based) is required for admissions consideration, but does not ensure acceptance.     • Verification of transcripts from foreign colleges and universities by an approved transcript evaluation service. See details at www.mcg.edu/admissions/intstud.htm.

    • If accepted, international students must submit documentation of personal funds before a Form I-20 Certificate of Eligibility can be issued.

  4. Individual programs may require an interview. Applicants who qualify for an interview will be contacted by the program's admissions committee.

  5. Student financial aid information is available at www.mcg.edu/students/finaid. The Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) is available at www.fafsa.ed.gov. You may contact the Office of Student Financial Aid at (706) 721-4901 or by e-mail at osfa@mcg.edu. Apply for financial aid as soon as possible, before actual acceptance into a program of study, to allow enough time for your financial aid application to be processed.

  6. In accordance with federal law, the Medical College of Georgia makes available, upon request, its annual security report which includes information concerning campus security policies and crime statistics. For a copy of this report, please contact MCG Public Safety at (706) 721-2914. Students at distant site locations should contact the college public safety office at that location.

  7. Providing false or incomplete information on this application or any of the documents supporting your application for admission can result in denial of admission, invalidation of an acceptance decision, or, following matriculation, administrative disenrollment or dismissal. Students are subject to disenrollment or dismissal for falsifying application information at any time during enrollment prior to graduation.


Instructions for Completing the Application

  1. Follow carefully the instructions for completing each portion of the application. A final admissions decision cannot be made until your complete application is received. All sections must be completed prior to submission of your application. When you are finished, click the 'SUBMIT' button on the left column of any application screen.

  2. Be sure your e-mail address is correct, as we will use e-mail for some communications throughout the admissions process.

  3. Deadlines for completed 2008 applications and submission of all supporting materials and documentation are indicated below. Early submission of all application materials is strongly encouraged. Applications and supporting materials received after the deadlines below will be considered on a space-available basis only.

  4. Be sure to complete all the questions on this application. A classification ruling must be made before your application can be completely processed. If your classification should come into question, you will be asked to submit additional documentation to support this status.

  5. Submit the application. Before submitting your application, you may use the print function on your browser to print each page. You should print a copy for your records for future reference.

  6. After printing the required Admissions Reference Form, print your name, address, and intended degree and program of study in part I of the form. Also in part I, print the name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address of the person who will serve as your reference. Distribute the form to the reference and request that he or she return it immediately to:

Instructions

To complete this online application, type your answers in the corresponding fields or select your answers from the popup lists (where applicable).

After you complete a screen, click the NEXT button at the bottom or on one of the sections listed on the left column to move to a different screen. Before you are allowed to jump screens, we will inspect your data on the current screen for errors or inconsistencies. If errors or omissions are found, you will be returned to the screen to correct your answer(s). Otherwise, your data will be saved and you will proceed to the requested screen. We also allow you to skip to another screen without your new data being saved. Be aware that if you use the Skip & Jump function on the left column, data on the current screen will not be saved and will have to be reentered prior to submittal.
