Freshmen Requirements — Unaccredited High School or Home School Graduates

Admission requirements are established to ensure a student is prepared to succeed in college. The completion of an approved high school curriculum and standardized test results (SAT and ACT) are the most important factors in determining an applicant's potential to succeed in college and eligibility for admission. Students who are home schooled or who graduate from an unaccredited high school may apply for admission to any of the colleges or universities in the University System and may validate their completion of the approved high school curriculum in alternative ways.

SAT Critical Reasoning or ACT equivalent scores and satisfactory documentation of equivalent competence in each of the high school curriculum areas at the college preparatory level may be used in lieu of the Freshman Index and Carnegie unit requirements. The colleges and universities of the University System of Georgia may opt to use one or both of the following options for evaluating unaccredited high school or home school graduates. Be sure to check with the admission office at the college of your choice for additional information regarding their admission requirements.
