Admission to Four-Year, Regional, or Research Universities

Students seeking admission into a four-year, regional or research university must:

  • Graduate from a high school that is accredited by a regional accrediting association such as the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools or the Georgia Accrediting Commission, the Georgia Private School Accrediting Commission or from a public school regulated by a school system
  • Meet the minimum SAT or ACT score requirement for type of institution
  • Meet the Freshman Index requirement for type of institution
  • Complete the USG 16 College Preparatory Curriculum requirements

Space is limited and admission is highly competitive at universities. In addition to completing the 16 required CPC units you should take higher-level courses to improve your chances of getting into the university of your choice. Click here to see a profile of the USG Freshman class of 2004.
