Admission to Two-year and State Colleges
Students applying to any of the two-year colleges or state colleges must:
Graduate from a high school that is accredited by a regional accrediting association such as the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools or the Georgia Accrediting Commission, the Georgia Private School Accrediting Commission or from a public school regulated by a school system or earn a GED.*
Meet the minimum High School Grade Point Average (HSGPA).
Students who earn a College Preparatory Curriculum diploma and are seeking a baccalaureate degree, or an associate degree or an applied associate degree or a certificate program that requires more than 12 semester credit hours in the core curriculum must have completed the 16 units of the College Preparatory Curriculum (CPC, called the College Preparatory Program by the Georgia Department of Education) and have a 2.0 HSGPA calculated based on the grades earned in the 16 units of the CPC.
Students who earn the Technology/Career Preparatory diploma and are seeking a baccalaureate degree, or an associate degree, or an applied associate degree or certificate program that requires more than 12 semester credit hours in the core curriculum must have completed the 13 academic units of the Technology/Career Preparatory Program (TCP, called Technology/Career Preparatory Program by the Georgia Department of Education) and have a 2.2 HSGPC calculated based on the grades earned in the 13 units of the TCP.
