Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)Program TypeNeed-Based Grant PurposeTo provide undergraduate students who demonstrate exceptional financial need with federal grant assistance toward the cost of attendance at eligible public and private colleges/universities and technical colleges. ValueThe maximum FSEOG award is $4,000 for the 2005-2006 award year. Each recipient's award amount varies depending upon the expected family contribution compared to the cost of attendance, the number of hours in which the student is enrolled, and the policies of the financial aid office of the college. Application ProcedureComplete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Some colleges may also require applicants to complete the college's financial aid application. Each participating college sets their application deadline date. Other InformationPell Grant recipients are given priority for FSEOG funds. Each participating college is allocated a set amount of FSEOG funds each year. |
