Transferring from Another College

Students who previously attended college and now want to attend another college are considered transfer students.

Transferring to a... Then the Board of Regents requires...
Research University At least 2.3 GPA¹and have met all Learning Support requirements and satisfied any high school curriculum deficiencies
Regional University At least 2.0 GPA and have met all Learning Support requirements and satisfied any high school curriculum deficiencies
State University At least 2.0 GPA and have met all Learning Support requirements and satisfied any high school curriculum deficiencies
State College Eligible to continue or return to last institution
Two-Year College Eligible to continue or return to last institution

Students who have earned less than 30 transferable² semester or 45 quarter hours must meet the freshman admission requirements in addition to the transfer requirements listed above.

¹ A Transfer Grade Point Average (GPA) is defined as the GPA calculated on all previously attempted hours

² Transferable hours are defined as hours completed in college-level coursework. Excluded are "institutional credit" courses, courses used to satisfy high school curriculum deficiencies, and vocational courses
